Bengaluru: The city witnessed two major fire incidents on Wednesday, both triggered by suspected short circuits. No casualties were reported.
In the first incident, a fire broke out at the Triumph motorcycle showroom near Narayanapura in Mahadevapura around 8.40 pm. The blaze, which gutted at least 50 vehicles, was brought under control after a three-hour operation by three fire tenders from the Whitefield, Hoskote, and Mayo Hall stations.
Fire brigade officials stated that the flames originated from a short circuit inside the showroom, which was closed at the time. The mishap came to light when a nearby shopkeeper noticed thick smoke billowing from the premises. The Mahadevapura police have registered a fire accident report.
Hebbagodi blaze
The second incident occurred at a textile warehouse in the Bommasandra Industrial Area near Hebbagodi.
A fire fuelled by the large stock of apparel quickly engulfed the godown, destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees. Seven fire tenders were deployed to tackle the blaze, starting with two from Electronics City and Anjanapura. As the situation escalated, additional fire tenders from Hulimavu, High Grounds, Chamarajpet, and Dairy Circle were called in to contain the blaze.
Authorities are investigating both incidents to confirm the cause and assess the damages.
