BJP MLAs from Bengaluru on Wednesday demanded that the government take up both drinking water and underground drainage projects in the erstwhile 110 village areas of the BBMP simultaneously.

In Legislative Assembly, Arvind Limbavali said that both the projects involve digging of roads and footpaths.
Repeated digging of roads and footpaths can be avoided if the projects are taken up simultaneously. But the government has now taken up only the drinking water project, he added.

Satish Reddy said underground drainage project taken up in the erstwhile CMC areas of the BBMP are still incomplete.

The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has delayed implementing the project. As a result, sewage water is flowing into lakes in many places, he charged.
