The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notices to Karnataka government and others on a plea by an activist against a Karnataka High Court order that had quashed investigation against top officials and others for grant of additional 4,285 acres of land for building townships by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE).

A bench of Justices S A Bobde and L Nageswara Rao sought responses from the state government and others, including NICE and its MD Ashok Kheny on a special leave petition filed by anti-corruption activist Abraham T J.

The Special Lokayukta Court had ordered investigation into the matter on a complaint by Abraham, on October 25, 2012.

Appearing in person, the petitioner contended the records were illegally manipulated to show lesser extent of government land, resulting in additional allocation of 4,285 acres in the name of the execution of the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) Project.
