A 31-year-old man was mowed down by a BMTC bus near the Chord Road Hospital on Siddaiah Puranik Road on Sunday morning.
The victim worked as a delivery person with a popular food delivery company.
The deceased—Devaraj, a resident of Kamalanagar—was on his way to deliver a food parcel around 9 am, when he was hit by the recklessly driven vehicle. The BMTC bus was heading towards Hebbal from Bapuji Nagar and rammed into Devaraj’s two-wheeler from behind, throwing him off his vehicle. The bus then ran over the victim, killing him on the spot.
The BMTC bus was being driven in a rash manner. The Vijayanagar traffic police have arrested the bus driver and have registered a case.
