Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) reached a milestone in its recruitment campaign by issuing appointment orders to 2,286 conductors.
As part of their induction, these new conductors will undergo a rigorous seven-day training programme to equip them with the skills and knowledge required for their roles. Of the 2,500 vacancies advertised, 2,286 have been filled under the Residual Parent Cadre Reservation.
The recruitment drive drew an overwhelming 23,021 applications. Of these, 4,722 candidates, who secured a minimum score of 30%, were invited for document and physical verification. Following thorough screening, 4,267 candidates were found eligible, resulting in the final selection of 2,286 candidates.
A few conductors DH spoke to said that they had prepared extensively and were grateful to have secured the job.
Alongside this recruitment milestone, the BMTC also announced the rollout of a new digital service, enabling its employees to access their monthly pay slips and Form-16 certificates via mobile through the emlslog.in platform. This initiative aims to improve convenience, enhance transparency, and reduce reliance on paper-based documentation.
“The digital transition not only simplifies internal processes, but also saves resources such as paper, time, and manpower,” said a BMTC officer.
