The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) submitted an affidavit before the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday stating that it will upload FIRs online within 24 hours in keeping with the Supreme Court guidelines.

However, the BMTF stated that details of some FIRs cannot be uploaded online considering the sensitivity of the matter. They have sought exceptions for such FIRs.

A division bench of acting Chief Justice H G Ramesh and P S Dinesh Kumar was hearing a petition filed by Umapathi S stating that the ACB and the BMTF are not uploading FIRs according to Supreme Court's guidelines.

In the last hearing, the ACB had informed the court that it has issued a circular asking its officers to upload copies of FIRs within 24 hours of registration of cases, except in "sensitive" cases in keeping with the apex court guidelines on uploading FIRs.

The bench disposed of the matter.
