Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) received a bomb threat email on February 8, sparking security concerns as the Aero India 2025 event commenced in the city on Monday, officials said.

The email, sent from mahanteshs6699@proton.me, warned of a drone attack on incoming flights at the Bengaluru and Chennai airports.

It stated: "THERE WILL BE A DRONE ATTACK ON LANDING FLIGHTS IN BANGALORE, CHENNAI OR KERALA AIRPORT IF I DID NOT GET ANY ANSWER FOR MY LETTER FROM BASAVARAJ BOMMAI (MP EX CHIEF MINISTER KARNATAKA).”
