An unidentified person made a hoax call to the police control room 100 and claimed that he had planted a bomb at Kannada film actor Yash's house in Girinagar on Sunday. The incident came to light on Tuesday.

According to police, the control room  recived a call on Sunday at around 7.36 pm and the anonymous caller said that he had planted a bomb at Yash house, which would explode in a few minutes. The police flashed a message across and alerted the Girinagar police station.

A dog squad and bomb disposal squad were pressed into service. Yash's house and the neighbouring houses and lanes were searched and the call turned out to be hoax, said the police.

The police mentioned that someone might have played a prank given the recent ongoing tiff between Yash and his landlord who asked the actor to vacate the house as he had not paid the rent. The anonymous caller had made the call from his mobile phone. The police are gathering information to trace the caller and arrest him.
