Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy met police inspectors of the city on Saturday and sought a compliance report on his 31-point action plan for maintaining law and order.

Among the points is the prompt closure of bars and restaurants within the jurisdiction of each police station. The inspectors could not submit the compliance reports last month in the wake of various bandobast duties.

Reddy made it clear to the officers that incidents of assault on police personnel and fire - like the one in a Kalasipalyam bar - should not recur. He asked them to book their attackers under the Goonda Act. The meeting lasted around two hours at Reddy's office in the Vikasa Soudha.
