Anant was playing with a broom on the third floor of a building in Swatantra Nagar when it accidentally touched the high-tension wire on June 5. The boy's screams alerted the neighbours, who came to his rescue and shifted him to a hospital.

He was later shifted to the Victoria Hospital’s burns ward as he had suffered 80% burns. On Friday, doctors pronounced Anant dead and sent an MLC (medico-legal case) report to the KR Puram police.

His family hasn't filed a police complaint yet.

The family hails from Nepal and shifted to Bengaluru two years ago. Anant lived with his mother and two sisters. His father works in Nepal.
