Boy mowed down by speeding car

A seven-year-old boy was killed moments after a car ran him over under Yelahanka traffic police station limits on Monday morning. 

Naveen Kumar, son of one Prakash from Medi Agrahara, was walking on the roadside around 8.30 am when the driver of a speeding car lost control, and the vehicle swerved towards Naveen, ramming him.

The boy was flung into the air, and collapsed, sustaining grievous injuries. He was rushed to a hospital but doctors declared him brought dead, police said. 

Woman run over by train

In another accident, a 48-year-old woman was killed on the spot after she came under a running train at Nayandahalli on Monday. 

Jayamma, the deceased, was walking to her workplace. She could not notice the approaching train and tried to cross the railway track near the Shiva temple. The train flung her too far and her limbs were severed, police added.
