Burglary at Jain temple, cops see inside job

Burglars struck at a Jain temple on OPH Road in Shivajinagar, central Bengaluru, on Sunday night and made off with Rs 10 lakh worth of ornaments.

The burglars smashed the CCTV cameras before laying their hands on the valuables. The burglary came to light on Monday morning when the priest arrived to open the temple. Police suspect it to be an inside job. The temple has employed around 20 people. A special police team is hunting for the suspects.

Man run over by BMTC bus
A man crossing Mysuru Road near the old toll gate was mowed down by a BMTC bus in the early hours of Monday, police said.

The bus driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle when Robert (58) suddenly appeared on the road around 4.30 am.

The deceased was a resident of Kasturba Nagar. Police seized the bus and arrested the driver.
