The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has filed a police complaint against Syndicate Bank’s KG Road branch and one of its business partners, accusing them of cheating it to the tune of over Rs 2 crore since September 2017.

The Halasuru Gate police, acting on a complaint filed by Rajanna M, Assistant Controller of Accounts, BWSSB, on Friday, have registered an FIR against Syndicate Bank’s KG Road branch and CMS Info Systems Limited under IPC sections 403 (misappropriation), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating).

The BWSSB had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Syndicate Bank to collect water bill payments from its consumers.

The bank, along with the firm, collected Rs 2,04,84,650 since September 2017 but failed to transfer the money to the BWSSB, Rajanna said in the complaint.
