A ‘shoddy’ work by the BWSSB led to a massive traffic jam on Cunningham Road on Wednesday.
High Grounds police said BWSSB had dug up a five-metre trench for drainage work in the middle of the road on Tuesday night. After completing the repair work, they covered the spot with wet mud. The rear wheels of a BMTC bus plying on the road got stuck in the slush causing traffic jam.
Vehicles plying towards Cunningham Road from Balekundri Circle had a tough time as traffic piled up. It took more than an hour to shift the bus from the spot. After the bus was removed a lorry got stuck at the same spot.
