A 30-year-old cab driver has been arrested by the city police for waylaying singer and entrepreneur Vasundhara Das and hurling abuses at her over an alleged road rage incident.

Munnavar Pasha lives in Hebbagodi. He owns and drives a Toyota Etios. Pasha told the police that Vasundhara disregarded the rules while driving and hurled abuses at him seated in her car when he questioned her.

Outraged, he chased her down for a couple of kilometres, waylaid the singer and abused her. He left the spot afterwards.

The incident happened on October 29 near 13th Cross on Margosa Road in Malleswaram around 4.30 pm. Vasundhara stopped her car at a signal in Bhashyam Circle as it turned red. A cab waited on her left to turn right.

When the signal went green, Vasundhara’s car went straight ahead, blocking the cab from taking the right. The driver abused Vasundhara, chased her honking and intercepted her near 18th Cross, Sampige Road signal, and hurled more abuses at her.

Vasundhara later filed a complaint with the Malleswaram police.
