According to the fire safety department, no casualties were reported. The driver and the passengers suffered no injuries and reportedly jumped out before the flames spread. It is suspected to have been due to a short circuit.

Traffic movement towards Hebbal was severely hampered until the flames were doused and the car was removed from the spot.

The K R Puram traffic police put out an advisory informing people of the fire and the slow traffic movement.

Videos of the incident on social media showed that the flames had engulfed the front portion of the car completely.
