Cardiac rehabilitation centre soon at Jayadeva

A cardiac rehabilitation centre will come up soon at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Bengaluru.

The centre intends to address post-cardiac treatments such as exercise programmes, physical activities, counselling, wound care and hygiene, control of diabetes, hypertension, proper medication compliance, dietary management and other precautionary measures.

The rehabilitation centre will display videos, postures and programmes related to prevention of heart diseases.
According to Dr C N Manjunath, director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, the construction of the centre is in progress and will be completed by March 2018.

The centre will be set up on the premises of the Institute as the main centre will be occupied with operations and patient care. The centre will have a dedicated team of doctors, dietitians, physiotherapists and yoga therapists. The centre will be established in collaboration with Needy Heart Foundation (NHF) and Bangalore Indiranagar Rotary Trust (BIRT). A total amount of Rs 5 crore is being spent for the centre, the Institute will contribute upto Rs 3 crore while the remaining Rs 2 crore will be borne by the NHF.
