The city police are searching for the custodian of a cash management services company who used the password given to replenish ATM kiosks and made away with Rs 76.4 lakh.

Shivaraju B, working for the cash management company located in Anepalya main road, withdrew the money from four ATMs. The company is responsible for loading cash in the ATM kiosks of leading private banks.

Though Shivaraju stole the money on August 28, the company came to know about the cheating when it received a complaint that an ATM on OTC Main Road was empty.

The company staff found that the ATM chest was empty though sufficient cash was loaded. They verified the CCTV footage and found Shivaraju had taken the money. The footage showed the custodian emptying the ATM chest. They checked other ATM kiosks and found Shivaraju took money from three others by August 28, after which he did not report for work.

Based on the evidence collected, the company's branch manager Shatrugna Prasad Singh filed a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police on September 2. The police are investigating further.
