A 70-year-old man was denied an MRI scan as he arrived two hours late at a hospital here on Monday, thanks to the advocates’ protest that resulted in traffic gridlocks.

He was stuck for hours at the Mysore Bank Circle. The staff of Arunodaya Hospital, Bagalgunte, left the hospital at 2.30 pm along with the patient to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Science. They could reach KIMS only at 4.40 pm.

“The patient was unconscious, but not serious. Due to massive traffic, the patient was in the ambulance for more than two hours,” said Jagadish, the ambulance driver.

Dr Appanna from Arunodaya Hospital said the patient’s appointment was cancelled since he could not reach KIMS on time. The patient was brought back to the hospital without scan reports.
