CCB busts job racket, 2 arrested

The Central Crime Branch police have arrested two persons for cheating people on the pretext of getting them jobs by stealing their details from online job portals.

The arrested have been identified as Bharath and Kiran, residents of Rajajinagar.

S Girish DCP (Crime) said while attending to complaint calls at the phone-in programme organised by Prajavani on Tuesday, he got a call from a youth in Ramanagara, saying people from a company called Future ProTech were contacting unemployed youths who had enrolled on job platforms like Quikr, jobguru.com and Shine.com and taking down their details and phone numbers.

Bharath and Kiran used to contact them with enticing job offers, charging them Rs 200 as registration fee and Rs 2,000 to finally get them the job.

A special team was formed and the accused was nabbed in 24 hours. The case has been registered in Subramanya Nagar, and Bharath and Kiran were charged with cheating, criminal breach of trust and other sections of the IPC.
