Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police has arrested a foreign national and seized 600 grams of prohibited MDMA crystals valued at Rs 1.2 crore.

The suspect, Eke Chukuwama, 43, was arrested on June 12 in K Dommasandra village under the Avalahalli police limits for allegedly peddling narcotic substances.

Acting on a tip-off about a foreign national selling drugs, the CCB’s Anti-Narcotics Wing began probing the case.

Subsequently, officers from the CCB and the Avalahalli police jointly raided the location, leading to Chukuwama’s arrest and the recovery of the high-value MDMA.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to purchasing the MDMA crystals from unknown individuals at a low price and reselling them for illegal profits.

He was produced before the court and initially remanded to police custody for three days. On June 16, he was remanded to judicial custody.
