King Richard Srinivasan, a celebrated biker from Bengaluru, died after his motorcycle crashed into a camel in the Fatehgarh division of Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district on Wednesday night, according to reports.

His body was brought to the city where relatives and friends performed his final rites around 3 pm on Saturday.

Remembering Srinivasan, bike racer and the owner of Art of Motorcycles, Murthaza Junaid, cited eyewitnesses as saying that the celebrated biker wasn't speeding at the time of the accident. A camel came onto the highway all of a sudden, causing the accident. Srinivasan sustained a serious cervical injury, which eventually proved fatal, Junaid said. Srinivasan wasn't into any racing. He was a long-distance rider, he added.

Srinivasan was riding along with three of his friends heading at the time of the accident.

Bought BMW bike in Nov

Junaid said that Srinivasan bought a BMW motorcycle in November 2020 and took training from him before going to Rajasthan and Gujarat.

According to Junaid, the last time he called up Srinivasan was on January 6, a day before the biker left for Rajasthan. "I feel that a person died because of the camel's negligence," he said.

The use of high beam lights by motorists on the highway also poses risks to riders, he added.

Srinivasan and his friends had gone on a road trip to London and from South America to North America.
