Bengaluru: Bengaluru's revelry hubs in the Central Business District (CBD) were chock-a-block on Wednesday night as party-goers and merrymakers thronged MG Road, Brigade Road, and Church Street.
Vehicles crawled on MG Road between 8 and 10 pm, with bumper-to-bumper traffic seen on the two-kilometre stretch between Anil Kumble Circle and Trinity Metro Station.
Church Street was barricaded at Brigade Road to prevent vehicle entry.
Brigade Road was also temporarily barricaded near Cauvery Emporium before being reopened for vehicular movement.
The MG Road Metro Station teemed with both passengers and visitors, nearly reaching its capacity at one point.
Police said they had anticipated the traffic and made arrangements accordingly. Eighty police personnel, including at least five traffic cops at each junction, were deployed in the area, according to a police inspector manning traffic near Cauvery Emporium.
