The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) office in Malleswaram saw students and parents reaching early in the day itself. Students with ranks from 8,201 to 10,000 appeared for counselling. At the end of day six, 1,403 seats were allocated.
Following the auto strike in the City on the day, a few candidates arrived at the centre much earlier than their slot. "We did not want to take risk. However, there were many autos plying today.”
“There are numerous BMTC buses available from Majestic to Malleswaram," said Mohan N, a parent.
While 242 candidates selected computer science, 361 students found electronics a better option. Branches like silk technology, tool engineering and polymer technology did not find any new takers.
Meanwhile, KEA officials were happy that number of candidates who finished counselling touched 10,000. "We are extremely happy to conduct the counselling with out any issues. We have been working even on Sundays and from morning to evening to finish the process as early as possible," said D S Narasimha Murthy of KEA.
Engineering candidates with ranks from 10,001 to 11,800 would appear for counselling on Tuesday. There is nearly 31,797 seats available for candidates on Tuesday.
