Bengaluru: A teenage girl, who suffered injuries in a freak accident during the Huskur Madduramma fair, succumbed on Sunday, raising the death toll to two.
On Saturday, a 100-foot-tall chariot, being pulled towards the Huskur Madduramma Temple, toppled near Rayasandra, killing a 24-year-old man identified as Lohith. Three people suffered injuries.
One of them was Kengeri resident Jyothi (16). She was critical and died on Sunday, according to police officials.
Jyothi travelled from Kengeri to Huskur to participate in the fair and was sitting inside an auto-rickshaw when the chariot crashed on it.
The other two injured are out of danger.
The Hebbagodi police have booked the fair organisers for causing death by negligence. The fair continued after the incident, but the police halted the rituals involving the chariot.
