Bengaluru: Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh has decided to hold progress meetings once a fortnight to address issues concerning the bioenergy sector.

At a recent meeting, SE Sudheendra, Chairman of the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board, presented a biofuel action plan and proposals to set up biofuel units in Bengaluru and other districts.

Sudheendra, also Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president, flagged inter-departmental clashes, particularly in the Food & Civil Supplies Department, which he said were hampering the sector’s growth.

He also raised concerns over files pending for over 18 months in some departments. It was agreed that steps would be taken to expedite their disposal.
