Bengaluru: HSR Citizen Forum, a nonprofit, brought back the charm of kite making and flying among the city children with an event at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Bengaluru's HSR Layout on Republic Day.

Forty-three children, including underprivileged children, learned to craft their own paper kites and enjoyed flying them.

The children also took a pledge on sustainable living and were sensitised to the dangers of single-use plastics, including plastic kites, and were educated about the importance of eco-friendly practices.

The event aimed to blend fun with a vital environmental message.

"With monthly activities aimed at nurturing responsible citizens, the forum's Youth Connect Wing continues to inspire the next generation to rise to greater heights — both in the skies and in life," it said in a press release.
