Bengaluru: CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is hosting an international conference on ‘Organisational Culture, Work Values, and Organisational Performance in Higher Education Institutions’.
Held in collaboration with partner universities from Australia, Germany, the Philippines, South Africa, USA and the UK, the conference has drawn about 200 delegates from around the world.
The event features panel discussions, case study presentations, and poster and paper sessions, focusing on empathy, adaptability, and strategic leadership in higher education.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Fr Joseph CC described the conference as "a celebration of shared knowledge" and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to global academic collaboration.
Dr Michael Rao, President of Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, stressed the role of empathy in leadership. "Empathy should lead every decision-making process,” he said, adding that human-centered leadership fosters innovation. He called for institutional frameworks that address real-world challenges through student engagement, internships, and research.
Dignitaries attending include Dr Mario Vaupel (Steinbeis University, Germany), Dr Satish Deshpande (Western Michigan University, USA), Prof Julia Cook (De Montfort University, UK), and Dr Jill Blondin (Virginia Commonwealth University, USA).
