The agency plans to hire a private firm to suggest solutions and prepare drawings for both the main carriageway and service roads.

This follows the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) promise in its recent budget to allocate Rs 400 crore for developing one section of the ORR. The project has been entrusted to B.SMILE, a newly formed agency mandated to handle large infrastructure works.

The blueprint is expected in the next two to three months.

“The study will cover traffic management measures such as signage, non-motorised transport solutions, bus lanes, one-ways, and road improvements like grade separators, pedestrian skywalks, bus stops, and more,” tender documents stated.
