This year, nearly 10.5 lakh candidates appeared for the examination which determines admissions to National Institutes of Technology across the country.
This year, the state-wise ranks were bagged by students from Bangalore. K Krishna Chaitanya of Deeksha PU college secured the first rank in the State, while Abhilash S and R Srinivasan secured second and third rank respectively.
Speaking at a felicitation organised by ACE Creative Learning Centre, Chaitanya said that he had put in a lot of hard work in his preparations. “I was not expecting this, since I believed I had performed badly in a couple of subjects. But this is elating news,” he added.
For Abhilash, it was a pleasant surprise to bag the second rank. He attributed his success to his parents and teachers at BASE , and said that it was belief in himself and focus that helped him do well.
Third rank holder Srinivasan did not hesitate to thank his mentors. He urged young students to work hard if they want to cherish success.
Others who have done well included Aditya Hebbar, Abhishek Ganguly, Sujith Kumar, Aishwarya P and Akshatha N of ACE Creative Learning Centre also feature in the topper list.
‘Paying attention in class helped out’, said Aditya, while Sujith felt there is no need to go the extra mile to perform well, as dedicated work is all that is required.
Interestingly, most of the toppers dream of entering IITs and for a few of them, that has been a dream long-cherished. Thinking out of the box, Akshatha wishes to pursue a degree in literature down the lane.
