Bengaluru: The International Trade Fair 2025—Organics and Millets will take place at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru from January 23 to 25, Agriculture Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy announced on Monday.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event at Tripura Vasini on January 23 at 11 am. As part of the inauguration, the chief minister will also lay the foundation stone for a Rs 20-crore organics and millets hub in Hebbal, Bengaluru, Cheluvarayaswamy said.
The trade fair aims to bring together farmers, farmer groups, domestic and international companies, and state and central agencies involved in the organics and millets sector.
The event will provide a platform to explore new opportunities and establish effective market linkages, the minister stated.
The fair will host over 300 stalls and feature lectures by 30 national and international speakers on topics related to organics and millets.
“The government’s goal is to popularise organic and millet-based foods as traditional, conscious dietary choices that support future generations. Additionally, we aim to cultivate and preserve traditional native crop varieties for the future,” Cheluvarayaswamy said.
Karnataka has been promoting organic farming as a sustainable alternative for the past two decades and organised its first organics and millet trade fair in 2017.
The minister also said Rs 106 crore in financial assistance has been disbursed to farmers to date.
