CM discusses action plan for city with BPAC members

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy discussed the action plan for the city with the Bangalore Political Action Committee (BPAC) members on Saturday.

After the meeting, the chief minister said the BPAC team’s recommendations on waste management and plastic-free Bengaluru would be implemented in a time-bound manner.

Kumaraswamy met BPAC president Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, vice president T V Mohandas Pai, CEO Revathy Ashok and other members and sought information about ongoing projects under the citizens’ forum.

According to the BPAC, the team shared its views and updates on the progress on existing projects, such as high traffic density corridors, white-topping of roads, garbage disposal and metro planning for city’s development with the chief minister.

The team told the chief minister that the city should be made a plastic-free and for this the use of plastic and vinyl posters, flexes should be prohibited.

It also stressed the need to use modern technology to dispose of garbage.

The chief minister promised that he, along with the deputy chief minister, G Parameshwar, who is also the Bengaluru Development Minister, will shortly call a meeting of all related urban development agencies to discuss the issues.

Revathy Ashok said: “The chief minister has responded positively to BPAC’s suggestion. He also promised to implement all the projects under the BPAC in a year, she said.
