Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is planning to set up an expert committee to look into the problems related to infrastructure and waste management in Bengaluru.

The plan for the setting of the committee was the outcome of a detailed discussion that the chief minister had with Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy, whom he met on Friday to seek his suggestions on problems plaguing the city.

During the meeting, Murthy advised the chief minister to take the NGOs working on development issues in the city into confidence while planning and implementing urban development projects.

The committee will be headed by the chief minister and will meet every two months to review the progress.

But Murthy, when contacted by DH, said the chief minister's visit was only a courtesy call. He didn't comment on being part of the proposed committee.
