Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will chair the first meeting of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) on Friday. The authority, chaired by the chief minister, includes 75 members, including MLAs, MPs, and MLCs.

While the agenda has not been disclosed, key topics likely to be discussed include the draft delimitation of wards, objections received, and preparations for long-pending elections to the five city corporations.

The meeting may also review ongoing works such as pothole-filling and discuss utilisation of the Rs 1,100-crore grant promised by the state government.

Officials said the GBA has already released Rs 600 crore to the five corporations for daily maintenance and project works. "There is a shortage of assistant engineers and Group C staff. We plan to raise the issue during the meeting,” a senior official said.
