Gayana Samaja, K R Road and ‘Vyasa Veda Peeta’ (Centre for Self-Realisation), Kengeri are organising a unique jugalbandi of Indian classical vocal recital, called Samaagama on February 24, 6 pm at Gayana Samaja, K R Road.

Drupad is known as the most original Indian classical musical form which was practised in temples for many centuries.  Carnatic music is the most traditional Indian classical music which has been practised for hundreds of years. This jugalbandi, which is a rare confluence of different style of music, is being performed for the first time in Bangalore. Gundechcha Brothers — Umakanth, Ramakanth (vocal) and Akhilesh (pakhavaz) —  are world renowned Drupad singers of the country. They will be singing along with Malladi Brothers (Ramprasad and Ravikumar), who are well known in the field of Carnatic classical vocal music. They will be accompanied by Nyveli S Narayanan on mridangam and M A Sundereshan on violin.
