Teenage is a difficult phase not just for young boys and girls but for their parents as well. There have been television series made on teenagers and even movies made on the different emotions that boys and girls have to battle with during their teenage phase.

Director HR Shrikanth has cashed in on this aspect and made a film on teenagers titled ‘Teenage’ that released recently. The film has Kishan in the lead role. Talking about the film, director Shrikanth informs that the film took not less than two years to complete and has been made at a whopping budget of Rs 2.75 crore. “The teenage years are a very confused phase. Boys and girls go through a lot of changes and don’t know how to react to certain situations. Parents too don’t know whether to restrict their children or give them a lot of freedom,” explains Shrikanth.

The movie, says Shrikanth, has the right blend of drama, romance and action. However, he says that the most challenging part was shooting the underwater scene. “We had to battle with two issues while shooting the underwater scene. People remaining underwater for long hours could come down with either a condition called hypothermia, where the body temperature drops below normal and hypoxya, where the body doesn’t get the required oxygen. We had a team of doctors on board to advise us on how to go about shooting the scene,” shares Shrikanth.

Shrikanth is proud about his son Kishan who plays the lead role. “Kishan has grown both as an actor and he has become technically sound,” he adds.

One of the songs in the movie has 40,000 children from across the State. The song has been sung by 500 children. This record song and dance will take place in Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli, Chitradurga, Hassan, Bellary, Shimoga, Mangalore and Gulbarga. Shrikanth says the song is a first of its kind.

Sharing his experience, Kishan says the movie has nine songs. “Teenage is a very difficult phase. I am going through it and I battle with the same emotions that feature in the film. It deals with love, the interpretation of love and the confusion that surrounds the term ‘love,” explains Kishan. Kishan feels that a lot of people will relate to the subject. “My friends who watched the film, say that they totally relate to the film. Even the older folk who would watch the film will surely recall their teenage years. It’s a realistic film,” Kishan adds.
