A Congolese national was arrested by the Bengaluru city police after he submitted a fake marks card of the Bangalore University, while seeking an exit permit online.

The Wilson Garden police arrested Nayim Said Alex, a resident of Hennur Main Road in Kothanur, on October 5 following a complaint by the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

“The officials of the FRRO grew suspicious of the marks sheet. When they crosschecked with BU officials, the card was found to be forged. They lodged a complaint with us, and we took him into custody. As per records, Alex’s visa had expired in August 2017, but he overstayed and created fake documents to obtain an exit visa,” a senior police officer told DH.
