Coronavirus: 'Negative pressure room not required if positive patients are cross-ventilated'

A negative pressure room does not let contaminated air escape into another room. Dr C Nagaraj, director, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases, said that though the beds are supposed to be separated by one metre, at the institute, they have separated the beds by two metres and both wards housing the suspects and the positive patients are cross-ventilated.

“A negative pressure room is not required when the ward is cross-ventilated and the distance between the beds is two metres,” Nagaraj said.
