Bengaluru: A couple was found dead at an under-construction building in north Bengaluru on Thursday, the police said.
The deceased have been identified as Mehboob (45) and Parveen (35), originally from Yadgir. They worked as daily wage labourers at the under-construction site near Dollars Colony, 14th Cross.
According to the police, the control room was alerted to the bodies around 10.30 am. A team led by the Sanjay Nagar police inspector immediately went to the spot.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the two had been staying at the site where they had also been working for a year after moving from Yadgir. They had visited their hometown for Eid al-Fitr and returned last Friday.
"An unnatural death report related to suspicious deaths has been registered," said Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
The police found Mehboob lying flat on the floor, while his wife was found hanging.
"It is suspected that the two quarrelled and one of them died, and fearing repercussions, the other may have ended their life," a police investigator said.
"However, an autopsy report is awaited to understand the circumstances of the death."
