The injured, identified as Siddesh and Cilara Jacob, are residents of an apartment complex near Davis Road in Fraser Town.

The police reported that neighbours were startled by a loud explosion around 5 am and soon realised there was a gas leak. The couple suffered burns and were rushed to the hospital. Authorities, including the police and fire department, were alerted.

The blast's impact caused significant damage to the couple's first-floor apartment, particularly in the kitchen. Windowpanes were also shattered, the police said.

While an investigation is underway, the police suspect a gas leak as the primary cause of the explosion.
