The Transport department officials on Saturday booked as many as 103 outstation vehicles playing without paying road tax.
Check points were set up at various locations in the City as part of the drive. As many as 76 four-wheelers and 26 two-wheelers with non-Karnataka registration were booked for not paying road tax.
Officials said that similar drives would be conducted in the coming days. A sum of Rs six lakh was collected as fine during the drive conducted on December 21, 2013.
An official of the department said that many residents buy vehicles in neighbouring states to save on taxes, which are lesser compared to Karnataka.
Last year, the department had launched a special drive in this regard and had collected road tax of Rs. 84 lakh and fines totalling Rs. 64,300 from April to November in 2013.
