A driver with State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB) was trapped by the Lokayukta police while he was receiving a bribe of Rs five lakh on Monday. Omkar had demanded a bribe of Rs 50 lakh from Katyayini Shetty, the owner of Comfort Homes Inn Private Limited.
According to a press release from Lokayukta police, Katyayini had entered into a pact with Srinivas Raju to sell her company for Rs 11 crore. However, cheques issued by Raju returned dishonoured. Katyayini was introduced to Omkar by her driver, Rakesh. Omkar demanded Rs 50 lakh to ‘resolve’ the issue. He was arrested while receiving the first instalment.
