Bengaluru: Bengaluru Customs officials intercepted three passengers attempting to smuggle hydro ganja valued at Rs 23 crore into the city from Bangkok.
In a press release, Bengaluru Customs revealed that the Special Investigation and Intelligence Branch (SIIB) and Airport and Air Cargo Complex carried out the operation on January 9, acting on intelligence inputs.
The passengers were found carrying 23 kilograms of hydro ganja during the interception at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
While hydro ganja seizures are common across the country, such instances at KIA are relatively rare.
However, Bengaluru's Central Crime Branch (CCB) often uncovers hydro ganja consignments in city post offices, suggesting the contraband is typically ordered via the dark web and delivered through postal or courier services.
