Bengaluru: The Kadugodi police have arrested a 32-year-old dance master for sexually assaulting a minor girl, police officials said on Thursday. The arrested suspect is Bharathi Kannan.
According to the police, on May 24, Kannan saw the 17-year-old girl walking on the road under the Cottonpet police station limits.
Kannan, who was in a car, approached her and coerced her into getting in. "He then drove the car, locked the doors, inappropriately touched her and dropped her back to where she was picked up," a police investigator said." She then told her parents about the incident, who lodged a complaint."
A case was registered on May 25, and the suspect was arrested on May 27. He is currently in judicial custody, the police said, adding that they have invoked relevant sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
