Bengaluru: The state government has decided to extend the deadline for completing the 2.5-km Ejipura flyover to December-end, allowing the same construction firm to continue the work.

The decision follows the intervention of BTM Layout MLA and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, under whose constituency the flyover falls.

In November 2023, the BBMP entrusted BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd with the responsibility of completing the remaining work on the Inner Ring Road (IRR) flyover, which spans from Ejipura to Kendriya Sadan, with a 15-month deadline. However, the contractor failed to meet monthly milestones, and the project was far from completion, prompting the civic body to recommend contract termination.

Subsequently, Reddy held a meeting with BBMP engineers and the contractor to address the issues. The contractor raised concerns about delays in receiving materials and segments prepared by the previous construction firm.
To resolve the issue, the contract period has been extended by one year.
