Bengaluru: An unidentified decomposed body was found near a canal on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the police said on Wednesday.
Officers suspect that the victim was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped near Bashettihalli in Doddaballapur taluk.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the body, found inside a gunny sack, was of a male aged between 35 and 40 years.
"Prima facie, it appears the death occurred at least a week ago based on the stage of decomposition," an officer said.
The body has been sent for forensic analysis and post-mortem examination. A detailed investigation is underway, the police added.
