Opposing Centre’s move to scrap CSAT in civil service examinations conducted by UPSC, former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, on Thursday, said any hasty decision would do injustice to non-Hindi speaking candidates.

Gowda, said Civil Services Aptitude Test should be continued to maintain parity between Hindi and non-Hindi speaking region aspirants.

He said the very basic idea of introducing all India service was to ensure that people from any part of the country should be to serve anywhere in the country .without any barrier.

If CSAT is scrapped, it would be advantageous to civil service aspirants from Hindi speaking regions in the examinations.
