Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday inspected an under-construction ramp at Hebbal Junction along with a team of officials. The elevated ramp — spanning a total length of about 700 metres — is scheduled to be ready by August 15.

During the inspection, which came as a surprise for officials of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Shivakumar drove up on the asphalted portion of the ramp and subsequently walked on the elevated structure, where bar bending and iron reinforcement work was in progress.

The two-lane elevated ramp will help motorists heading towards Baptist Hospital from the Nagawara side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) without coming into contact with vehicles from the airport side. In the next phase, the BDA has proposed additional lanes for city-bound vehicles at the chaotic junction.
