A 25-year-old wife of a doctor died after she fell from the fifth floor of her Mantri Alpine apartment in Uttrahalli near Rajarajeshwari Nagar in western Bengaluru on Sunday.
The victim is Sonal Agarwal, a private firm employee. She was married to Dr Avinash, who works at the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), three years ago and the couple has a two-month-old baby.
According to the police, at the time of the incident, Sonal was alone while Avinash was talking to flatmates on the ground floor.
Ravi D Channannavar, DCP (West), told DH that Sonal fell from the balcony of her building and jewellery, flat keys and inner garments were found next to her body. Preliminary investigation revealed that a week ago her flat keys had gone missing.
Meanwhile, the police have taken the CCTV footage of the apartment along with the visitors’ registry for further inquiry. The police suspect that she might have stolen the jewellery from another flat and may have accidentally fallen down while escaping.
