A domestic help committed suicide by hanging herself at her employer’s house in Kodigehalli police limits on Monday. Chitra (19), a native of Shidlaghatta was working at the residence of Kamalamma for the past 20 days.
According to police, Chitra was alone after Kamalamma left for her relative’s house in Chikkajala. She locked the house from inside and hanged herself from a ceiling fan in a room.
The incident came to light after Kamalamma’s daughter-in-law came to the house and her knocks on the door were unanswered.
She peeped through the window, only to see Chitra’s body hanging. Chitra’s parents had visited Bangalore on Sunday and spent some time with her. The reason for her extreme step is yet to be ascertained, police said.
